Jay Schechter, JD, CFP Partner and Senior Advisor  |
A skilled Certified Financial Planner®, Jay joined Singer Xenos in 1999 and was quickly promoted to Partner. Jay assists his clients in all aspects of their financial life including estate and retirement planning. He is a member of the Singer Xenos Investment Committee. Jay has a B.A. in Business Administration from University of Miami and a J.D. from Temple University School of Law. Prior to becoming a financial planner, Jay practiced law in South Florida for over ten years, an experience which enriches the counsel he offers each of his clients. He has served as a Federal Judicial Law Clerk to United States Bankruptcy Judge Robert A. Mark. Prior to joining Singer Xenos, Jay had his own bankruptcy law practice specializing in sophisticated Chapter 11 matters as well as corporate workouts and asset protection issues. Jay is a current member of the Florida Bar, Bankruptcy Bar Association of the Southern District of Florida, the American Bar Association, and the Dade County Bar Association. He is the current President of the Young Israel of Miami Beach, on the board of the Miami Beach Jewish Community Center, and is an active member of Congregation Beth Israel, Congregation Ohr Chaim and the Chevra Kadisha of Toras Emes.
